Congressional Air Force

UPDATE:
Apparently, some members of both parties in Congress are paying attention. Here is a followup story from the FOX News website: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/08/09/opposition-emerges-multimillion-dollar-plan-buy-planes-government-officials/

I could find no mention of this on the websites of ABC, CBS, MSNBC or CNN. Two of those sites did however have stories about pre-marital sex.

For months the President, Senator Harry Reid and Queen Bee (Speaker of the House) Nancy Pelosi and most liberals have bemoaned the fact that this country is in the greatest economic crisis of all time, nay the greatest economic crisis that will ever befall human kind. We have heard of crisis after economic crisis. Of course, this is all George Bush's fault. Bush does share some of the blame, but not for the single greatest increase in our national debt since 1776.

This administration has nationalized the banking industry and two thirds of America's auto industry, and is attempting to shove the nationalization of our health care industry down our throats, against the will of a majority of Americans who actually like the health care coverage they currently have. Beau coup kudos to Ford Motor Company for refusing to be nationalized, although they will undoubtedly pay a steep price for failing to bow before the President, who incidentally bowed before the King of Saudi Arabia on one of his Apologize for America tours..

Anyhow, The House of Representatives has come to our rescue, more specifically Madam Speaker, Queen Bee Pelosi, has devised yet another way to rescue us. In the FY 2010 budget, the House proposed the addition of one (1), uno (politically correct term for the number 1, for non-English speaking illegals), singular Gulfstream G550 to be added to the government jet fleet. Under the financially resourceful wizardry of Madam Queen Bee, TWO (2), dos
(politically correct term for the number 2, for non-English speaking illegals) , a pair more have been added to the budget. Oh yeah, throw in four (4) 737's at a cost of $80 MILLION a piece. Congress has approved these expenditures. Simply freakin' amazing. Can anybody guess why the Congressional approval rating is so low? $500 plus MILLION dollars, could buy a lot of relief for the average American taxpayer. How about some tax relief?

Now, normally, I would be fully supportive if the government wanted, say two more FA-18 Super Hornets than originally ordered, because they are actually worth the price. However, two more Gulfstream G550's, just to be at Madame Speaker Queen Bee Pelosi's beck and call is absolutely preposterous, not to mention just in your face hypocritical. Each Gulfstream G550, manufactured by the way by General Dynamics, will cost us, the taxpayers of this country a mere $59.9 MILLION a piece. At least they specified an aircraft manufactured by an AMERICAN company, as opposed to something made in France or Japan. To be fair, these aircraft will be available for all members of Congress.

This addition to the federal budget comes from the very same people who berated, humiliated and lambasted the auto industry executives for flying into Washington on corporate jets only to be publicly tarred and feather by pompous, self-righteous members of Congress on live TV. Of course, that was before two of the Big 3 were taken over by the government to form Obama Motor Corporation.

So just when some were beginning to have some doubts about the ability of this administration, the Queen Bee cast those doubts in concrete. Just don't expect to see this on the state run media outlets, you know - ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC and CNN just to mention a few. Unfortunately, too few will hear this story.

Wouldn't it just be cheaper to fly commercial like the rest of us do? If they want to visit Iraq, Afghanistan, or another "Hot Spot" here's a suggestion - Military transport. We already pay for that. Besides, those planes could carry arms and ammo or much needed supplies while our elected officials go along for the ride.
